The Happiness Intervention was filmed entirely on location in Iceland, a place whose beauty feels both cinematic and untamed. The country’s dramatic contrasts, vast open landscapes, and ever-changing conditions became an essential part of the filmmaking process and the emotional language of the film.

Shooting in Iceland meant embracing unpredictability. Weather could shift in an instant – from blazing sun to torrential rain or a gentle breeze to fierce winds – requiring constant flexibility and, at times, rearranging entire shooting days to work with the conditions rather than against them. Instead of resisting that reality, the production leaned into it.
